Gossip.

An interesting statement found in the movie series Gossip Girl cover, “You’re nobody until you’re talked about.” Well, I have to say, be true at times. Perhaps this tagline is reflecting people today who are desperately seeking for attention from others. Let us be realistic, we are living in a world full of lies, fake promises, et cetera. A world where marketing is the science bullsh*t, and politics is the science of power abuse. I guess it is unnecessary for me to explain about bad gossips.

However, attracting attention from others when you have achieved from your own effort is something that you can be proud about. There are times too, when it would have a better use/purpose when you publish it. A good example of it -from observation- is how a friend of mine, Muhammad Assad, promotes himself through his blog muhammadassad.wordpress.com, and followed by a book that’s pretty booming now: Notes From Qatar.

In Assad’s blog, he wrote many things that would be beneficial for others to know. For example, the story of him getting his scholarship, how he “ended up” in Qatar, etc. Thus, seeking positive attention from people he knows would be motivating and rewarding. This may result in the power of word of mouth spreading the news of his success, both with his book and his life -and maybe female friends around him :D . He’s somebody because he’s talked about –in a good way.
